Season 2
This is where you will diverge from other newbie athletes because this is the season where you increase something.
It may be the number of races
It may be the variety of events
It may be the distance
This season will be marked by your experience in Season 1.
You may enter different races because some of the events you did last year weren't as good as others. Let's face it not every event is going to be brilliant and you're inevitably going to have your favorites for one reason or another. It could be down to the technicality, speed or incline of the bike course that attracts you to certain races or even just the scenery and the surroundings.
You may feel that you want to focus more on one event because it's either your strongest or weakest. So now you're looking at more running events; a swim race in open water; sportives and longer, more challenging rides.
You may want to stick with what you did last year and try and beat your times on those course to measure your improvements or because you just loved the events.
You may want to increase your distance to Standard/Olympic distance in triathlon and/or duathlon.
You may even have your sights set on a longer target but it's up to you if you feel you can achieve that. You have the Winter to train so if you're upping your distance be sure you do it gradually and in plenty of time.
