Swim Watch

A fancy piece of equipment that records your stroke rate, distance covered and will vibrate or beep after a number of target lengths you've pre-programmed into it. They generally record a number of sessions with the more expensive models allowing you to download the data.

I started out with a cheap £10 waterproof wrist watch I got from Argos. It had a stopwatch feature. I can count so can count my lengths and stroke. I know if I'm hitting my targets.

It took me a long time before I was able to justify the expense and then it was a multi-sport watch that would work in open water not a pool specific watch.
